Basset Hound Welfare

Jane’s Story

Jane and Steve had a Basset Hound called Flash.

Although they loved Flash he was making their life intolerable by being noisy, destructive and soiling whenever he was left.

Jane contacted her local Basset Hound Welfare representative and discussed Flash.

A number of suggestions were offered and tried, including an indoor kennel, lent by Welfare and Flash gradually improved to such an extent that Jane’s thoughts moved from regrettably having to part with him, to seriously considering getting another Basset as company for him.

This was discussed in depth with the Welfare representative and the possible pitfalls as well as the advantages were fully considered.

Jane and Steve made the decision to go ahead and Jane asked Basset Hound Welfare to bear her in mind if a suitable hound came in.

Some time later a bitch called Bonnie was re-homed with them and she and Flash have become the best of friends.

Since then Jane and Steve have had a son and this has not given rise to any problems with either Bonnie or the ex-delinquent Flash.
